Thanks!

It's an oft-repeated phrase, that running a small business is a "labor of love".  Well, we're very familiar with the "labor" part of this equation!  But, we also do indeed love tea and tea culture, and it's a business we love - even during the holiday season,  with all the busy parties, packing and unpacking new shipments, short staff (yes, our staff wants to vacation during this time too!), cost increases, and other business challenges.

The "love" part of the equation, though, we notice runs both ways - we've been especially touched by the love we get from our customers, from our regulars we know by name to all the new faces.  This holiday season, we were surprised by all the gifts we received from our customers - from chocolates (yum!), to cute tea cups and even ... oh, yes, yum, very yummy ... a gift of homemade tamales!  So, thank you, many thanks yous, for all these gifts, and all the love.  It certainly softens the "labor" part of running a small business.

Poetry Reading

This Thursday (January 10), the illustrious Jenna Wayne will be doing another poetry reading at our store, from 8:30 pm to closing.  Jenna's preparing a trip to India for a few weeks, so I bet we'll hear some poetry in anticipation.   Come for a peaceful evening of tea and poetry - and if you're inspired, to read a few poems of your own, as we can make this an "open mic" for all to enjoy.
